To create a new cycle of health starting with kids.

For the first time in American history, kids are less healthy than their parents were at the same age. Without a catalyst, chronic disease will only grow in America. We refuse to accept this.

We are equipping a generation of kids to lead the nation to a new cycle of health.

Our guiding principles are symbolized in our Flywheel logo:
Stacks Image 38053
Represents the BreakAway Attitude we teach and empower
Represents Adventure, embodied in the kid races we produce
Represents the Significance kids earn by serving others

We depend on support from corporate sponsors and individual gifts to fund our operation. We do not profit from entry fees to our events, and 100% of donations raised by kids go directly to charity projects chosen by our Kid Advisory Panel.

Tony Schiller, Co-Founder

Perseverance personified. For decades Tony has performed at a world-class level as an athlete, speaker, and event creator.

Though a 7-time ITU world triathlon champion, and winner of 79 triathlons in his career, Tony's special connection with kids comes as much from his years of struggling as a kid. He was cut from 7 different sports teams growing up in St. Paul. Not until a neighbor named Frank invited Tony to go for a run did things begin to click for him.

That simple act of kindness by Frank in 1973 still inspires Tony today. CycleHealth events give him the chance to be like Frank in hopes of lighting the same fire in kids everywhere for physical activity and a love for life-long adventure.

The two time US Master's Triathlete of the Year (2002 and 2015) still holds his own against elite racers less than half his age and won his age group at the 2016 Twin Cities Marathon. Tony plans to celebrate turning 60 in 2018 by going for age group wins at the Boston Marathon and the ITU world championship in Australia.

Tony brings the same enthusiasm when he speaks to groups and leads CycleHealth events. He’s most proud of having helped kids develop resilience for life, a passion for fitness, and a commitment to serving others. 15,000 kids have now finished his races and raised some $4.7 million for charity.

Heather loves traveling and learning about the world. With a blend of CrossFit and yoga, she’s created a balanced foundation of strength and endurance which allows her to go further and experience more things. She’s ready to conquer whatever the world has to throw at her. She feels that being strong has shifted her focus from how she looks to what she can do. She recently started listening to her passion for physical fitness and kids by taking on the position as volunteer coordinator for CycleHealth. She thinks that this will allow her to continue to be inspired and to also inspire kids to find this journey sooner than she did. Some of the things she does in her free time include golfing (competitively), biking, snowboarding and exploring the world with her amazing boyfriend Stuart and puppy, Kilo.
Heather’s philosophy on life is this: “In all you do, do it well and with passion. Surround yourself with those who inspire that passion. Everyday I strive to live life to the fullest. I continue to lean into challenges and being uncomfortable knowing that the end product is progress. I portray this mentality in all I do everyday in hopes that this inspires those around me to do the same.”
